Rainbow Six Siege - WEL Season Report (WEL #8)
The Dragons' Rainbow Six Siege roster entered the Welsh Esports League #8 determined to test themselves against some of the strongest teams in Wales. As a debut campaign, expectations were grounded: learn the league, face elite opposition, and see how quickly a developing squad could adapt under pressure.
What followed was a season of challenges, setbacks, and ultimately, a breakthrough that gave a glimpse of what the Dragons' R6 project could become.

Group Stage Journey
Round 1 – vs The Rejects (2–7)
The Dragons opened their season against The Rejects, one of the most experienced rosters in the league. Despite flashes of coordination and a solid defensive setup on Clubhouse, the early rounds slipped away and the scoreline widened. The Rejects' polish in execution highlighted the step up in competition — and gave the Dragons an instant benchmark.
Round 2 – vs Wolfhounds (5–7)
The second fixture was a far tighter affair. Against Wolfhounds, the Dragons grew into the game, finding structure and trading rounds effectively. Clutch scenarios and momentum shifts defined the match, but Wolfhounds edged it 7–5. It was a defeat - but one that showed resilience, improvement, and the potential for more.
Finishing the group stage 0–2, the Dragons dropped into the lower Championship bracket. With pressure off and lessons learned, the squad refocused on leaving their mark.

Championship Final – vs Red Kites (2–0)
Drawn against Red Kites in the Championship Final, the Dragons came alive. Fielding emergency substitutes Fadeyand Itsyerfavcollie, drafted in from the Rocket League roster, the team pulled together in style.
On Clubhouse, the S.E.A. Dragons executed with a newfound confidence: cleaner trades, sharper timing, and composure in decisive rounds. The 2–0 sweep marked the Dragons' first major series victory in Rainbow Six Siege, delivering silverware in the Tier 2 bracket.

Reflections
For a debut season, the Dragons' Rainbow Six campaign was about building foundations. The group stage highlighted the gaps between a developing roster and Wales' elite teams, but the Championship Final proved the squad could adapt, evolve, and rise to the challenge.
Head of Performance Dylan Carpenter:
"Rainbow Six Siege is one of the toughest esports to build in. Our players showed massive growth across just a few weeks - from communication and coordination to confidence under pressure. This final win proves we're on the right track."

Looking Ahead
The Dragons leave WEL #8 with a first Rainbow Six Siege title, experience against top-tier teams, and a clearer understanding of the demands of competition at this level. With an expanded roster and momentum from the Championship Final, the focus now shifts to consistency, preparation, and competing for a Premiership berth in future seasons.
Team Principal Patryk Białowąs:
"This is the beginning of our Rainbow Six journey. Winning the Tier 2 final showed the character of this squad, but we know there's more work to do. With time and structure, this group can challenge at the very top of Welsh R6 esports."
