The Origins of S.E.A. Dragons
S.E.A. Dragons was founded by Patryk Białowąs and Dylan Carpenter after seeing a clear gap in esports for structured performance analysis and long-term thinking.
With backgrounds in performance analysis and sports consultancy, they wanted to apply ideas shaped by traditional sport to a new competitive space, not just by advising teams, but by building a club themselves.
What started in Brecon as an ambitious idea has grown into one of Wales' leading esports organisations.
OUR STORY
S.E.A. Dragons was founded in Brecon, the town where our founder, Patryk Białowąs, grew up after moving to Wales from Ostróda, Poland. He attended school in Brecon, played for local sports teams and later served as the Youth Representative on Brecon Town Council.
The idea for the club came through his involvement in Welsh esports. Despite the growth of the Welsh Esports League, Powys had very little representation and no established club competing on behalf of the area.
In 2025, S.E.A. Dragons entered the league to change that.
What started as a small Powys esports project has since grown into a multi-game organisation competing across Wales, the UK and Europe, while continuing to represent Brecon and Powys.
What They Brought With Them
Patryk and Dylan brought more than just experience, they brought a complete high-performance philosophy, adapted from traditional sport into esports:
Patryk Białowąs (right)
Patryk is a performance analyst and the founder of Scout Edge Analytics Ltd, with experience across football, futsal and esports. He graduated from Cardiff Metropolitan University with First-Class Honours in Sport Performance Analysis, receiving the programme award for the highest academic performance.
His work has included analysis roles across football and esports, alongside research into the use of performance analysis within competitive gaming. His esports research has also been presented at the International Esports Research Network Conference, contributing to the developing academic discussion around analysis, data and professional practice within esports.
Patryk founded S.E.A. Dragons after seeing the lack of representation and opportunities for esports in Powys. What began as a Brecon-based project has since developed into a multi-game organisation competing across Wales, the UK and Europe, with Patryk continuing to lead the club as Team Principal.
Dylan Carpenter (left)
Dylan is a performance analyst with experience across professional football, rugby and esports. A Sport Performance Analysis graduate from Cardiff Metropolitan University, his background covers tactical analysis, video coding, athlete monitoring and performance data.
His experience includes roles with Cardiff Rugby, Newport County and Wolverhampton Wanderers, alongside his work as Lead Analytics Consultant at Scout Edge Analytics.
Dylan was instrumental in establishing S.E.A. Dragons' performance and analysis structure during the club's early development. He now serves as a Director, using his experience across professional sport and performance analysis to contribute to the club's wider direction and decision-making.
