S.E.A. Dragons Secure 3rd Place in Debut Welsh Esports League Season
In their first-ever campaign in the Welsh Esports League, S.E.A. Dragons have delivered a breakout season across multiple titles, establishing themselves as one of Wales' most promising new esports organisations. The Brecon-based club finished 3rd overall in the Club Championship, an impressive result for a team competing in its inaugural year.

A Season of Firsts
WEL Season 8 marked the competitive debut of S.E.A. Dragons, and each roster contributed to one of the strongest opening seasons the league has seen from a new club.
The standout achievement came in Counter-Strike 2, where the Dragons captured the club's first major title, going on an extraordinary run to be crowned CS2 Champions.
In Rocket League, the team delivered consistent performances across the split to earn a 3rd place podium finish, while in EA FC 25, the Dragons went all the way to the final, finishing runners-up in a tightly contested campaign.
The newly formed Rainbow Six Siege roster also impressed, claiming the Tier 2 Bracket title and showing strong potential for future seasons.
Not every title saw immediate success, the Valorant roster endured a challenging season — but their involvement played a key part in establishing multi-title consistency and club-wide infrastructure.
Growth Beyond Competition
Season 8 was also defined by off-the-server progress. As a young organisation, the Dragons focused heavily on building the foundations of a modern esports club:
Launching the official S.E.A. Dragons YouTube channel
Releasing the club's first official kit
Expanding staff roles across coaching, management, safeguarding, and analysis
Strengthening the club's identity and presence within the Welsh esports community
Representing Powys the only active club from the county competing in the WEL, the Dragons quickly built a reputation for professionalism, organisation, and ambition.
Setting the Standard for the Future
Team Principal Patryk Białowąs praised the work of players and staff across all titles:
"This season was about establishing who we are and proving that we belong in the league. Every player and staff member helped build the foundations of something much bigger, and finishing third overall in our first year is something everyone should be proud of."
With structures now in place and momentum moving into Season 9, S.E.A. Dragons aim to continue growing both competitively and organisationally. The introduction of more data-driven support, expanded staffing, and strengthened pathways across titles will be key focuses heading into the next split.

WEL Season 8 was just the beginning. With new rosters developing, community growth accelerating, and a rapidly professionalising internal structure, the Dragons' debut year has set the tone for a long-term presence in Welsh esports.
The club now looks ahead to Season 9 with confidence, ready to build on their success, challenge for more titles, and continue representing Powys on the national stage.
